Mr. Fugale is currently the Chief Information Officer for Villanova University where he is responsible the technology operations, infrastructure and applications for all aspects of the university. In addition he serves as the Chair for the University Strategic Planning Committee. He also serveson the the Board of Directors for HRS America, a Human Resources Outsourcing and Professional Employer Organization and on the Board of Advisors for Liquidhub, a technology consulting company and the CIO Advisory Council for DSS (Distributed Systems Services) a regional technology services company. He is an affiliate for Smart & Associates a regional Audit, Accounting and Technology firm.
He previously served as the Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer for CIGNA’s Group Insurance Division, a $2.1 billion provider of Life, Accident and Disability Insurance. While at CIGNA managed a staff of over 175 employees across all technical and application disciplines. Served as a member of eight-person Senior Executive Team defining company strategy and operating results, reporting to the President. Served on the Board of Directors for the Life Insurance Company of North America. Played a key role in due diligence processes for both operational and book of business acquisitions and led an IT organization supporting over 15 million transactions annually. His career at CIGNA spanned over 18 years in a variety of IT executive roles.
